The People Behind My Business Coach

We are the small team building pocket-coaching for the 60 million line managers who never get it.

Darren A. Smith, Co-founder

Darren spent 12 years at Sainsbury’s head office, working up through the buying team to running a billion pound category. He left to found Making Business Matter, a soft skills training provider to the suppliers of the big four supermarkets, and has run it for over 20 years. He co-founded My Business Coach to take that development to the managers who are never offered it.

Kirk Niverba, Lead Developer

Kirk has been building with Flutter since 2019, early enough that almost nobody in the Philippines was using it in production, and has worked across web and mobile since 2016. He built the foundation of My Business Coach and has led its development ever since.

Jack Smith, Project Manager

Jack spent six years studying and making films, directing seven short films and winning three film festival awards in his career. Directing is leadership under pressure: a team, a deadline, incomplete information, and one person accountable for the result, all making for the transferrable skills he’s used for the last 18 months. He now leads product, and the development team at My Business Coach, covering the build, how it reaches people, and what happens once it does.
